parece ser que para el sigrapph sacan el max 7, si como lo ois, parece ser que han reescrito el codigo por completo.

Hey guys, i just worked with Catalyst Alpha aka 3ds max 7.0, so the following are not rumours but facts
There is finaly a "Edit poly" modifier and wow!
Edit poly has a "modeling" mode and "animation" mode.
With animation mode you can animate any vertex, line or poly you want! This means that max has finaly clustering which is great for character animation. The animation mode of Edit Poly has a "ignore below transformation" button, this is just like the Ignore parent button in Morph O Matic. No problems with double transformation whatsoever. You don't even need extra controllers to animate your cluster, just grab a vertex or poly with soft selection is enough.
So in my future my stack will probably be:
-Edit Poly (with clustering )
-Morph for Skin (if needed)
-Skin
-Editable Poly
Besides that there is a completely new Morph modifier to put on top of Skin. You can move any point or poly you want on top of skin, no more need to make morphs inside Skin with a extra edit mesh modifier (this Morpher works realy very very very good, it makes skining absolutely supereasy even in the most difficult areas)
There are also 2 other Skin modifiers, but i didn't had the time to test these.
The latest Mental Ray is integrated, the Material Editor has some new materials but for the rest it's the same.
tons of new codecs to choose from are also installed automaticaly with the max 7 install
I do not own this max 7.0, the guy who had it does not want to share it, which i understand because there are only very few people who have this version, he could get into trouble"
