Interface
CINEMA 4D Release 9 features a flexible, user-friendly interface that‘s key to working faster and smarter.Detachable menus provide quick access to groups of functions, while menus and managers themselves have been consolidated for easier learning and a less cluttered interface. With the search tool, you can easily locate and select objects just by typing a portion of their name. The Heads-Up Display puts valuable scene and object info right on top of the scene, while a new Global PopUp provides easy access to frequently-used commands. New view modes display wireframes over shaded objects and show the effects of layered materials. With all these interface options, the tools and info you need are always at your fingertips.

Modelling
Modeling tasks in Release 9 are made easy with the addition of N-gons and a host of new editing tools. The new auto-selection and tweak-selection tools eliminate the need to change modes while modeling, and -selection previews provide live feedback as you mouse over points, edges and polygons. Live feedback continues into an improved knife tool that cuts holes, planes and paths into objects. Use the brush tool to sculpt objects dynamically, and connect objects with the stitch tool. You can even accurately determine distances between points and objects using the Measure & Construction tool. Modeling is the cornerstone of 3D, and CINEMA 4D R9 has the tools to create any object you can imagine.

Clothilde
Dress characters for success and add the soft touch to your scenes with MOCCA‘s new cloth simulations. This powerful tool is easy-to-use, with most settings in a single tag.Adjust wind, drag and gravity settings with real-time feedback. Use the Dress-O-Matic function to drape simple clothing shapes over the character, and easily set restraints so the cloth interacts with itself and the character‘s movement. Belting allows you to pin cloth to the deformed points of any object, or you can pin cloth to any arbitrary point in space. You can even utilize vertex maps to change the effect of nearly any cloth setting in different portions of the cloth geometry. An efficient cache system allows you to bake cloth effects and still update the dynamic effects on individual frames. Clothes make the character, and with CINEMA 4D you can make any character great.

Hard IK
CINEMA 4D Release 9 combines the power of Mocca‘s Soft-iK with the reliability of traditional
IK systems in the new Hard IK feature. With this feature, you can create complex character rigs including multiple IK targets, use Quaternion Interpolation to prevent gimbal lock situations and blend FK and IK animation. Putting your characters into motion has never been been easier.

Motion Blending
Create complex animations easily with Motion Blending. Easily combine your own animated movements or imported FBX motions using Mocca‘s new Motion Blending feature.Create smooth transitions between motions and preview the final effect realtime in the viewport. Blend a simple walk cycle to direct your character anywhere along a spline. You can even program pivots when the character reaches a corner. Apply motion from one rig to a completely different rig using motion retargeting. With Motion Blending, complex animations really are just the sum of many parts, and that makes moving characters around much simpler.

Im- & Export
Man isn‘t an island, and neither is CINEMA 4D. New in 9 are a host of import and -export options
so the best tool for the job is always within reach.Exchanging scene data with other apps is easy with the FBX file format, which has been dramatically enhanced and now -supports morph target animation using Mocca‘s PoseMixer feature. Texturing possibilities are expanded with support for 16-bit LZW Tiff files, and populating your scene is easier than ever because the extensive libraries of RPC objects can now be imported directly into CINEMA 4D. Delivering the final product is just as simple with an expanded After Effects export option as well as new exports to Combustion, Final Cut Pro and NxN Alienbrain. You can easily transfer data with other tools you use frequently, and that makes CINEMA 4D the best tool for the job.
